Medium density lumber, kiln-dries
very rapidly. This wood is
appropriate for internal finishing,
in general construction, as for
baseboards, molding, doors, jambs,
wainscot, decorative carved
laminates and furniture. It is also
used for various posts, stakes, and
supports, and for fences and
gateposts. This wood easy to work
with and has an excellent finish
when planed, turned or bored.
"Resistant to dry-wood termites and
moderately resistant to marine
borers".

A

Light

kiln-dries rapidly. It is used for

It is easy to saw, plan, nail and
screw. When treated with steam,
solid pieces can be curved or bent.

kiln-dry. It is used for fine

flooring. Easy to work with manual
and mechanical tools. It has
excellent absorption of pigments and
can be well polished.

is a heavy wood, ready for use after
either slow air-drying and/or a fast
kiln-dry. It is used for general
construction such beams, rafters,
studs, battens, door jambs,
wainscot. It is an excellent
flooring wood. Also used externally
as well for posts, pillars,
gatepost, connecting beams and long
lasting cross-ties. It is used for
truck platform, railroad cars, naval
and furniture construction, lathe
turned poles and tool handles.
Resistant to fungus, marine borers
and insects.

is a fairly heavy hardwood,
long-lasting and easy to work with.
It is used in general carpentry, for

rafters, parquet blocks and
flooring. For external use, garapa
is used as posts, fence posts,
cross-ties, bridge beams and
pillars.

IPE
BRAZILIAN WALNUT
Tabebuia spp.
Hard
and heavy wood, easy air drying,
easy and quick kiln-drying. There is
good reason why IPE is the choice
throughout the world for decks,
walkways, floors, pilings and piers
which are exposed to the weather (including
the Atlantic City Boardwalk) and
which get heavy use. It is a
hardwood that is incredibly durable
and attractive. It is used for
general and naval construction such
as rafters, beams and battens. It is
used for furniture, musical
instruments, handles for tools,
knives and brushes. It is also used
for billiard cues, pillars and beams,
cross-ties, posts, truck platforms
and crates. It is recommended that
it be drilled prior to nailing or
screwing. Good finishing wood.

This beautiful hardwood is excellent
for door and window moldings,
parquet blocks and planks for
flooring, decorative carved
laminates, internal finishing. It is
used for furniture, musical
instrument and toy manufacturing.
Reasonably resistant to fungus and
termites attacks and very resistant
to humidity.

Light
wood. May be air-dried if lumber is
kept stacked and covered. Very fast
kiln-dry. Easy to work with manual
and mechanical tools. Excellent for
sanding, drilling. Long lasting when
used dry. It is used for furniture,
molding, interior work, musical
instruments, door and window
moldings, broom handles, matches
sticks, plywood, laminates. Even
used for wooden clog manufacturing.

MUIRACATIARA

known as Aroeira
Gonçalo-Alves is one of our most
beautiful tropical woods. It is
tough, strong and durable. It is
typically a finely textured wood
with a heartwood described as
reddish brown to light golden brown,
with irregularly spaced blackish
brown streaks. Slow kiln drying
recommended. Highly regarded for its
durability. This wood is far
superior in strength to either Teak
or Hard Maple. It is harder than
Teak and does not mar or dent easily.
Very heavy with high density. When
air-dried to 12% moisture content,
its bending strength is
exceptionally high. A premier wood
with many uses, from general
construction requiring strength and
durability to the manufacture of
fine furniture, cabinets and
flooring. The wood can be polished
and finished very easily. A clear
finish enhances the beauty of this
wood. Highly resistant to
decay-causing organisms, dry wood
insects and termites.

For the production of furniture,

Light
wood, fast kiln-dry. Easy to saw,
reasonably easy to plane. It is used
for general construction as
ceilings, moldings, lathe turned
pieces, furniture, veneers and other
wood trim. Used as well for
carpentry, furniture frames,
plywood, light packaging material,
planks, concrete moldings and toys.
It has a variable resistance to wood
rot, susceptible to fungus and
termites. "Reasonably resistant to
dry wood insects".
